In Real Estate, the fall market usually is the second best time of the year to sell your house. We all talk about the spring frenzy but there is a benefit to selling in the fall especially in Sterling and Princeton. What drives a hot market is the number of potential buyers. In the fall, Sterling and Princeton especially get more traffic because of the fall festivals at Wachusett Mountain and the apple orchards that bring people into our towns.
Back to school also creates a trigger to start house hunting. Once the kids are back in school people get back to a routine and house hunting resumes. If buyers have children in school they might be reminded that time is limited to get into a new school for next year. This might encourage them to start looking for houses in their desired towns in the fall.
Fall is also a great time for showings. Houses without air conditioning show better in the fall during cooler weather. Houses with a view of the fall foliage, and houses near an apple orchard sell better in the fall. Fall decorating can enhance curb appeal to attract more showings in the fall.
After a relatively slow summer market especially in the higher priced homes, I am anticipating a busier than average fall market.
